The History Of Hair Straightening That Lead To Ceramic Flat Irons

- Several years in the future, Sharrell invented heated metal straightening combs, called hot combs, that were less damaging to the hair.
- Let's not forget the crude chemical processes that in the olden days caused not only damage, but hair loss.
You can just imagine the damage that some of these crude instruments and processes did to hair back then. Speaking of hair damage, in the 1960s actual clothes irons were used to straighten hair. You can see how that is inconvenient as well as damaging to hair.
Those days are gone. After years of research, technology and development, inventors have created better ways to straighten hair. The development of modern curling irons made from aluminum and less damaging chemical straighteners brought hope to those with unruly hair, but even those can and have caused hair damage as any chemical or heated device will do.
